Vaginal Tightening in Seoul: Surgery, Laser or Filler?
Vaginal laxity is evaluated using vaginal pressure measurements, ultrasound, and a pelvic examination.
Surgery may be suitable for significant widening from the vaginal opening to the inner vaginal canal.
Vaginal laser treatment may be considered for mild laxity, dryness, weak pelvic floor muscles, or mild urinary incontinence.
Vaginal fillers provide immediate volume and may reinforce specific areas without surgery.
Some patients visit our clinic and tell us:
“My vagina does not feel the same as before.”
“It feels loose, and my partner does not seem satisfied.”
“Intercourse seems to end too quickly.”
“I feel embarrassed because of vaginal air sounds.”
They want to know how vaginal laxity can be improved and which vaginal tightening treatment would be most appropriate.
To answer these questions, several examinations are necessary.
How Is Vaginal Laxity Evaluated?
First, we use a vaginal pressure measurement device to evaluate the space inside the vagina and the degree of laxity.
We also measure vaginal pressure numerically while the patient performs a Kegel contraction.
Showing these measurements helps patients understand their condition more objectively.
Ultrasound is used to examine the positions of the urethra, vagina, and rectum.
We also check for masses pressing against the vagina or other abnormalities.
The surface of the vaginal mucosa is examined as well.
Finally, a pelvic examination is performed to assess the position and condition of the pelvic floor muscles.
After completing these examinations, we provide a personalized consultation to determine whether surgery, laser treatment, or vaginal filler would be the most appropriate option.
Although we use objective examination results, sexual experiences and the symptoms felt by each patient are also highly subjective.
For this reason, I believe that a physician’s ability to listen carefully and help patients speak openly is also important.
After talking with dozens of patients every day for more than 20 years,
I feel that I can often understand a patient’s personality simply by watching the way she walks into the consultation room.
Sometimes, I even joke that I have become a fortune-teller.
After explaining the patient’s vaginal condition,
I recommend the treatment that I believe would be the most appropriate.
There is not always only one correct way to improve vaginal laxity.
Who May Benefit From Vaginal Tightening Surgery?
Vaginal tightening surgery may be suitable for patients whose vagina is wide beginning at the vaginal opening.
When the vaginal opening itself is significantly widened, filler or laser treatment may not be enough to reduce it.
In these cases, perineoplasty and inner vaginal tightening surgery may be performed together.
Patients with significant vaginal laxity or severe urinary incontinence may notice a more definite change after surgery.
Surgery may also be considered when substantial narrowing is required during penetration.
Who May Benefit From Vaginal Laser Treatment?
Vaginal laser treatment may be appropriate when vaginal laxity is not extremely severe but the vaginal mucosa is weak.
It may be considered in cases involving:
- Vaginal dryness
- Postmenopausal vaginal changes
- Difficulty performing Kegel exercises
- Weak pelvic floor muscles
- Mild urinary incontinence
- A desire for gradual improvement through collagen regeneration throughout the vagina
There are many types of vaginal laser and energy-based treatments,
including Vivive, Revive, Vagisera, Coatherm, Winback, MonaLisa Touch, and EVELO.
These devices differ in durability, energy level, and treatment depth.
Who May Benefit From Vaginal Fillers?
Vaginal filler is injected between the vaginal mucosa and muscle layer to create immediate volume.
This may help the vaginal lining feel fuller and more resilient while providing a tightening effect.
Vaginal filler is also useful because it can reinforce specific areas that have lost volume.
It may be considered for patients who want a faster effect, are preparing for intimacy with a new partner,
want to make a special impression on their husband, or simply want to feel feminine again.
Some women consider the treatment before a trip with their partner or while their partner is away on a business trip
so that the change can be a surprise.
Vaginal filler allows vaginal laxity to be improved discreetly without surgery.
Sexual intercourse may generally be resumed after approximately one week.
Choosing a Vaginal Filler
You may already know that products intended only for facial injection should not be used as vaginal fillers.
A product designed for vaginal use should be selected.
Available options include Winkfeel Hera, Wonderfill, hyaluronic acid fillers, and collagen boosters.
The appropriate product may be chosen according to:
- The shape and amount of volume created
- How firm or resilient the treated area feels
- How long the effect lasts
- Whether the material is biodegradable
Vaginal Care Is Also Part of Women’s Health
Just like the face, the vagina naturally changes with age.
Even without childbirth or frequent sexual activity, aging-related changes cannot be completely avoided.
As women live longer, I believe it is important to help them preserve their femininity, beauty, and confidence.
While providing treatment, I find myself listening even more carefully to my patients’ stories.
When surgery or other treatments bring positive changes to a patient’s daily life, I feel rewarded and genuinely happy with her.
It may take a little courage, but investing only in your face is not the only way to feel beautiful or loved.
Vaginal care is also important.
