A Patient Case in Which a Relationship with Her Husband Was Restored A…
The patient we would like to introduce today is a 40-year-old woman
who has experienced two vaginal deliveries and visited our clinic
due to multiple ongoing concerns that began after childbirth.
Her primary concerns were pain during intercourse caused by scar tissue
at the previous perineal incision site,
as well as severe vaginal laxity.
She described feeling that the vagina had become
“so loose that there was almost no sensation during intercourse.”
She also reported a significant decrease in her own sexual sensation.
Although her husband did not express it directly,
she felt that his satisfaction had also declined.
As a result, they gradually began to avoid intimacy.
A vaginal pressure assessment revealed the following results:
Vaginal laxity score: 82
(indicating severe vaginal laxity)
Pelvic floor muscle contraction score (Kegel): 12
(indicating difficulty maintaining contraction)
Based on the examination, we confirmed that:
▷ Vaginal wall support had significantly weakened
▷ The pelvic floor (Kegel) muscles were functioning minimally
▷ Dense scar tissue was present beneath the previous perineal incision site
After thorough consultation,
we recommended Ribbon Vaginal Surgery combined with vaginal mucosal contouring,
with the goal of achieving definitive vaginal tightening
while also improving the condition of the vaginal mucosa.
We explained that creating a vaginal structure that is both
firm and naturally flexible would be the most effective approach.
During surgery, we carefully evaluated the condition of the scar tissue
within the inner perineal area, removed as much fibrotic tissue as possible,
and restored the region to a more natural anatomical shape.

During the first 1–2 weeks after surgery,
the patient experienced mild pulling sensations while walking or moving.
However, recovery progressed quickly,
and she was able to resume most daily activities within two days.
Today marks six months post-surgery,
and she returned to the clinic for vaginal laser maintenance care.
Seeing her again after some time,
it was clear that her expression and eyes looked much brighter than before.
She shared shyly,
“Our relationship has become much better than it used to be,”
and “It feels amazing that I’m the one who wants to be closer first.”
Her vaginal muscles had recovered well,
and seeing her confidence restored along with physical improvement
was a reminder that obstetrics and gynecology
often helps strengthen family relationships in meaningful ways.
Vaginal pressure assessment results comparing before and after surgery:
Vaginal laxity score: 82 → 64
Vaginal pressure (pelvic floor muscle strength): 12 → 39
The vaginal tightening effect remained stable,
and pelvic floor (Kegel) muscle function had improved noticeably.
We believe that Ribbon Vaginal Surgery is an approach that
precisely restores only what is necessary,
providing clear vaginal tightening and functional recovery,
and helping patients once again experience comfort and confidence
in their intimate relationships.
